To be suitable for Parent Migration, you must be the parent of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. You must as well pass the ‘balance of family’ test, which determines that at least half of your children must live permanently in Australia; or you must have additional children living permanently in Australia than in any other individual country.

You must be sponsored by your child, or some other adult, who has been established in Australia as a citizen or permanent resident for at least two years. Your sponsor must supply a legal undertaking to support you during your first 2 years in Australia.

You must as well fulfill health and character demands for permanent entry to Australia.
